Connor and I worked this afternoon on Valentines for his class party on Tuesday. Took us a couple hours but they are done. A lot of the putting together was my job and I left the creativity to Connor (with a few suggestions from me) I did the stamping and heat embossing on the front as well as the decorative scissor edge. (haven't used those in YEARS!) Also put them together because the tape runner was frustrating him to no end. :D Connor did the stamping on the back, put all the foam stickers on the front and of course filled out the "to" "from" part. They turned out so darned cute!
The fruits of our labor.
Yes, that is a splotch of ink on his wrist. He's quite the mess maker, just like his momma.
You should have seen the floor of my scraproom when we were done. Looked like a scissor wielding maniac has hit a stack of paper running. I'm still finding bits of red and paper backings off the stickers. :D
Inside are Hershey's chocolate bars. They didn't have regular chocolate like I wanted, so I had to get w/almonds. Oh well. He wanted to get difficult and get 4 different kinds of candy bars. Had to put the quash on that one, it would have cost me a fortune to buy them all individually. Anyhoo, time and money well spent. He turned to me as we were in the middle of creating the valentines and said "Mom, I'm having so much FUN!" THAT is totally worth it. Totally.
So the breakdown goes something like this (you know I'm planning the LO in my head as I type this)
Chocolate bars: $8
Cranberry Cardstock: $3.60
Foam Heart stickers $4
Tape runner: $3
Hands covered with ink, a floor filled with scraps and time with my son? Priceless.
And one last parting shot because those freckles are to die for. Couldn't you just smother him with hugs and kisses?
Hoping you get to spend time with the ones that mean the most to you,
~h
