my eyes must be tangled

So this morning i'm "putting on my face" and had my trusty Tweezerman tweezers in hand to pluck a few stray brow hairs.  (being a girl is soooo stinkin glamorous, right?)  Jackson walks in and is studying me.

Jack:  "Mommy?  I can't use that white fing you have wite dayer on my brown eyes.  I can't use it cuz it will make my eyes tangled."

Yes.  Tangled he said. 

And the "white fing" would be my tweezers even though they are silver, not white. 

And I still for the LIFE OF ME can't figure out what tangled would look like exactly. 

Only Jack would come up with something like that but I soooo admire his use of new words.  Maybe a bit out of context but too cute not to share.  I'm still trying to get to the bottom of what he means by "tangled" but when I ask him it's "I not knowwwww."

Cute?  Most definitely.  Totally smooshy and kissable?  OH YEAH BABEE, OH YEAH.

rise and shine

Up at 8am this morning which is a HUGE big deal for me.  I love to sleep so being up this early is nothing short of miraculous.  During the time Norm was gone this past week I thought I was gonna die getting up at 7am with the kids.  I craved nothing more than my blanket and my pillow all day long.  And you can ask the kids, I am NOT a morning person.  Until my 2nd cup of coffee and then I am almost normal and appear to be very lifelike.  :D  I also have a very short temper anytime before say 10am so it's tricky.  Norm has already figured this one out and will very rarely say anything to me until after 10am.  He's a smart man, that one.  Add to that the task of getting the boys up and ready to take Jack to preschool and you can imagine my frustration (and theirs) every morning.  Not a pretty site sometimes but I'm trying to be better.  really really trying.

Yesterday we had quite an interesting morning.  Jack had apparently pooped or appeared to at least have started to because he was.....ummmmmm a little unclean around the bum-bum area.  (also some on his legs, ewww)  Anyhow, I plunked him down on the toilet and encouraged him to do his business and explained to him that he could not get off the toilet until he pooped in it.  So like the Once Upon a Potty book goes we sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat.  (you get the idea) And nothing.  No poop, just me making silly grunting faces at Jack trying to get him to go.  Finally we all kinda gave up because everyone had to get ready to go.  (no pun intended) Then it dawned on me that if he pooped in the toilet, how did it get on his legs?  Then I realized that the underwear he had been wearing had somehow disappeared.  That's scarey.  I asked Jack where the underwear were and he says all bright and cheery "Dey dirtee, I poot dem in da washer!"  Oh Lord.  Opened up the washer (that had a freshly washed load inside) and there they were.  Red underwear on top and a nice big ball of poop at the bottom.  Norm scooped it all out if you can even believe that.  I'm still in shock because any bodily function stuff makes him gag. 

Norm called me at work last night to inform me that our little underwear sportin' little man finally pooped in the toilet.  YIPPEEE!!!!!  And even by himself.  He ran into the bathroom, took his diaper off and threw it in the tub and then jumped up and went.  So a long story short, I think he's finally getting it.  At least a little bit and I'm very excited that we are making progress.  Because this momma has had it with poopy diaper business.  Yeeehaw for our little guy!  And I sincerely hope that I won't be retrieving any more poop balls from the washing machine.  ewwwwwwwww.

Hot taco?

as Jack calls it.  What he means to say is "hot cocoa".  We had some this morning and he refused to call it "hot cocoa" or even "hot chocolate".  Hot taco has stuck.  Eventually it evolved from "hot taco" to "coffee taco".  He's a nut.  And yes, only my boys would ask for hot cocoa when it's supposed to be 113 outside today.  Then again, I have to have my coffee hot every morning, regardless of what the thermometer says.  They are their mother's sons.

In other news, da man is still in Seattle.  Jack is still depressed.  He says randomly throughout the day "my Dah-yee get on da air-pwane!?"  He's convinced that this entire time daddy has been gone he's been flying around aimlessly in an airplane.  Regardless that he talks to daddy everyday on the phone (when he's not trying to stay mad at him) and has been told multiple times that daddy is not still on the airplane.  Poor kiddo.  He'll be one heck of a happy camper when daddy comes home tomorrow.  It's probably a pretty safe bet that poor daddy will have garnered himself a 3yo leg-leech.  or hip-leech, depending on Jack's mood.  My money is on hip-leech.  He gets clingly when he's upset.

We're off to the grocery store here in a bit.  Almost out of milk and I've promised the boys we'd make stir-fry for dinner.  Norm hates Chinese food of any kind so it's a rare treat when I can actually cook something Asian in it's influence.  Connor is all sorts of pumped.  I told him he could pick the veggies and noodles once we get to the store.  He's so funny and honestly easy to please.  At least most of the time.

Finished my altered kit for CP.  Holy crap was this a huge undertaking.  Between Norm being gone most weekends, the boys needing me and keeping up with household stuff I haven't had much time to work on it.  I have to squeeze in 20 mins here, a half hour there.  I've finally finished and am putting the instructions, materials list and photos together as soon as I can get the squirmy 3yo (he's sitting on my chair behind me) down for a nap.  It turned out pretty darned cute and I'm glad I saved the templates I used because this one an album that I will definitely want to reproduce.  Photos to come, not sure when I am able to publicly post them, probably not until the kit has gone live, but I'll let ya know.

Okay, Jack is driving me nuts playing trampoline on the seat and I'm soooo ready for him to get his butt in bed.  Until later....

He just came to me with a bag of biscuits and wanted one.  He hands me the bag and says "Mommy, I pwease have a bikkit?"  I opened the bag and he got one out BY HIMSELF (and didn't throw a fit because *I* opened the bag instead of him) and then said "fank oooo!"  AND used sign language for when he said "please" and "thankyou" BOTH?  OMG, this day is gonna ROCK!!!!!  Thank you God for this sweet little boy!

Anyone want to buy a 2.5 year old?

In good condition, tends to be a little on the loud side, but can be pretty darned adorable under the right circumstances.  Doesn't eat anything unless it's absolute junk food and has no nutritional value whatsoever.  Bossy and willful and guaranteed to destroy everything in his path as well as anything he can reach with the help of a kitchen chair (which turns out to be quite a lot).  Ack, I'm at my wits end...

I just recently purchased a bunch of stamps from Stampin' Up!  If you've ever done the same, you know that you have to cut the little buggers out and mount them to the wood blocks all by yourself.  Not a task I look forward too, especially since I don't have the fancy $20 pair of scissors that they sell to do it.  But I digress....

I picked up my order on Saturday (thanks, Shan!)  came home and cut out all of my stamps with my a pair of stitch removing scissors that Norm still has from his 1st wife's stuff.  She was an OB nurse and had all sorts of medical tools, those being one of them.  They worked okay but they are all metal and really rubbed my poor thumb raw.  I have the beginnings of a blister from cutting out all the damned stamps.  I did purchase a set that are the mini-alphabet types.  Teensy little things.  They weren't too bad, you just cut them in even squares and then stick them on.  it still took me a while to get them all mounted.  After I had finished everything (which took me nearly 2 hours) I left them on the kitchen table and started dinner.  BAD BAD IDEA.  Jack got ahold of all the mini alpha ones, took them in the hall and proceeded to peel HALF OF THEM off the wood blocks.  OMG I was soooo PISSED!  I threw one hell of a tantrum of my own and sent him to his room for a nice LONG time out.  I don't think I've said DAMN IT! that many times in a row in a long long time.  I managed to get them all mounted again and hopefully they will stay stuck because he actually tore the foam on some of them.  So you wanna buy a 2.5 year old?  I'll sell him to you CHEAP!  Maybe we could work out a timeshare plan and give my poor nerves a break....
